Greetings Potential Volunteers!

AYSO is an all-volunteer organization - and we need YOU!
Field Setup Fridays - Snack Bar - Safety - Treasurer - Team Parents - Mentors - Coaches - Referees
If you would like to show your support and have a whole lot of fun with us on and off the fields, please consider volunteering!
If you would like to help but aren't sure where to start reach out to us at: [email protected]
1. It's easy - just point them toward the goal and have fun!
2. We provide training if you aren't sure what to do. All you need is a desire to help!
3. The time commitment is minimal - you're going to watch them play anyway!
4. It's convenient - schedule practices when and where you want.
5. Your child will remember the great time they spent with you playing soccer!
Common concerns about being a volunteer coach/referee:
I'm busy! We completely understand. We recommend those parents that are busiest be our coaches. I have a busy schedule and I always coached both my kids teams so that I could schedule practices at the park around the corner from my house (another coach may hold practices across town) and scheduled the two practices one after the other. My team, my schedule!
I don't know anything about soccer! It's likely the kids know less than you! For the 6U and 8U kids, the most important thing you can teach them is how to kick and receive the ball (we'll show you how). They'll pretty much figure out the rest. At that age, the game is all about maximizing touches and goals. Try to keep them from touching the ball with their hands; keep them going in (generally) the direction of the opposing team's goal (but if they score in your own goal, that's OK!). We recognize that the upper divisions get a little more complicated - and we provide training to ensure you know what to do.
I don't want to be coach! We completely understand. There are many reasons why parents don't want to coach. However, we hope you will recognize how rewarding being a coach can be - especially to your child!
I can't afford the registration fee for my child! If you feel you cannot afford the registration fees, partial or full scholarships (does not include $20 national fee) are available for players in need through a grant provided by Carson Tahoe Health's Community Partnership Fund. Various factors such as funds available, need and contribution go into the decision to award a scholarship, and there is no guarantee that scholarship funds will be awarded. To apply for a scholarship, complete our Scholarship Request Form and send it to [email protected]. Once your scholarship application is approved, you will receive a coupon code for entry at the end of the registration process.
Please help us help your child PLAYSOCCER!
