Spring 2024 Registration Is Open!!
To register, select the Login button above (families with accounts) or the Register Now button above (new families). For new accounts, the first set of information will be for the account holder (parent/guardian). After that, you will be able to add a participant (player). You are not registered until you have confirmation that you have paid. You will receive an email indicating that you have registered.
Payment will be collected once we are able to verify that there is enough interest in the division to avoid issuing refunds for under-represented divisions. You will receive an email to complete payment once our region is able to confirm there are enough kids registered in that division.
All teams will need a volunteer coach and referee in order to play during the season, so please consider volunteering! AYSO offers training and help for those new to the sport - all you need is a willingness to learn and help!
How much does registration cost?
See our Fees and Refunds tab for information regarding registration fees and discounts.
What are the different programs offered?
Carson City AYSO offers two programs in the Fall, and three programs in the Spring:
- "Core" Recreational Program - Soccer at its "core", the Core Program is designed to teach and develop players at the recreational level. Practices and games occur a few times a week. Open registration, everyone plays, and good sportsmanship are the core tenants of our program! Teams are randomized to help ensure fair play.
- AYSO Interplay - AYSO Interplay ("Ai") is designed for our more experienced players ready to commit to a higher level of soccer! Carson City's Ai team, "Storm", is a coach-select program from tryout participants, and is dependent on coaching availability. Ai participation requires additional time commitments from both parents and players. Our Carson City Storm Ai team holds tryouts in the Spring, and rosters are maintained for a full calendar year.
What can I expect once my child is registered?
Players in core 6U-18U (Ages 5-17):
Once your player is registered, you should expect a call, email or text from a coach in August for fall soccer and early April for spring soccer.
For older divisions (12u-18u), payment will be collected once we are able to verify that there are enough players to form enough teams. If necessary, our teams will play other regions' teams, such as Bishop, Lake Tahoe, Carson Valley.
Practices will occur in August for fall soccer, and April for spring soccer. They are usually one or two nights per week at the discretion of the coach (if you have a busy schedule, you might want to be the coach so you can dictate when, where and how often you want to practice).
Games will start in late August and go through October for fall soccer, and April through June for spring soccer. Games are usually on Saturdays and one on a weeknight evening.
See the Carson City AYSO 5U webpage for information for children under 5 years old.
What will AYSO provide and what do I need to get for my player?
AYSO will provide:
You must provide for every practice and game:
Shin guards (of appropriate size) under socks
Comfortable sneakers, running shoes or soccer cleats (soccer cleats preferred)
Water
The following are not allowed at practice or games:
How can I help?
We need volunteers! We are an all-volunteer organization. We offer training and guidance for all new volunteers!
Soccer for your child doesn't work without a lot of help from everyone. Each child's team will need a coach, parent helper (or assistant coach) and a referee. These are positions filled by parents/family members to help the league run smoothly! AYSO offers training and guidance for new volunteers!!Nothing says you care for your children like spending quality time with them! See our volunteers page for more info or contact a board member.
All children should be allowed to play soccer in a positive, fun environment. Therefore, we expect all parents, spectators and volunteers to abide by the AYSO Code of Conduct and the Kid Zone Guidelines.
How do I get a refund?
See the Fees and Refunds page for information on refunds.
